iPlan advise on appropriate methods and techniques for business process design
We assess our clients' business processes to establish a course of action to utilise an opportunity for improvement
or to remedy a problem.
An example is when iPlan worked with a global bottler and brewer to standardise
the business processes for their breweries and bottling plants in Africa.
We investigated the different
business processes used to accomplish essentially the same objectives at different locations,
identified the superior processes from those in use, and in some cases designed completely new
business processes where, in our opinion, none of the existing processes were close enough to best
practices. From all of these inputs we created a single, standardised business process blueprint
for all of the company's Africa breweries and bottling plants covering Planning, Procurement,
Manufacturing and Sales & Distribution. The company is currently rolling out a series of change projects
to change
business processes in all of their Africa operations to this standardised blueprint.
iPlan serve as dedicated project managers
We manage large scale change projects on behalf of our clients.
An example is when iPlan project managed the implementation of a new strategy of
centralised planning for a luxury brand headquartered in London with regional operations around the globe.
We designed the new business process blueprint; then used
this blueprint to search for appropriate forecasting and planning software, evaluated alternatives
and recommended a specific solution. We negotiated with the software supplier on behalf of our
client, lined up external consultants and then project managed the implementation; including
coordination of the external suppliers and the internal teams, data preparation and a synchronised
global go-live.
iPlan outsource industrial engineers to clients.
We provide industrial engineers to clients who have a temporary need for
skilled resources or who require industrial engineering skills but do not wish to employ permanent
staff.
A current contract is with a large Information Technology firm, whom we provide with a fixed number of
younger industrial engineers supervised by a senior. They are deployed on different projects,
wherever the client requires industrial engineering skills. The contract is renewed annually but
we also temporarily increase the number of industrial engineers when requested.
